Episode 11: The Sorrows of Wholesale Brands

Hello everyone, it's been a while.

Since the new year, I have been thankfully busy, so I have been putting off updating my blog. I apologize for that.

I never forgot about it , but I did feel the pressure at times.

Our DOMELLE year 2024 began with the LOOK photoshoot for our third season, 24AW, and two weeks later we held the 24AW wholesale exhibition. Now that the exhibition has ended safely, we feel a little relieved.

However, there will be no time to rest as starting next week we will begin selecting fabrics for our 25SS project!

My mind is filled with excitement and anticipation for the next project. I really feel that I love this job.

Well, this time I would like to talk about the woes of wholesale brands.

Because DOMELLE is a wholesale brand, we only produce items ordered at the wholesale exhibitions held twice a year, in spring/summer and fall/winter, and deliver them to our business partners (retailers).

Because running a store requires know-how that is completely different from manufacturing, DOMELLE has chosen to leave the "retail" part of delivering products to you to professionals, and to focus on "manufacturing" itself by choosing a "wholesale" business model. Our business model is what is commonly known as "B to B," and our "dealers" are our direct customers.

However, since it is you, the general consumer, who will actually wear DOMELLE, we will refer to you as "customers" here.

Unfortunately, DOMELLE does not have its own store, so there is no opportunity for direct contact with customers.

Although I am not in charge of planning or design, I would still like to hear the opinions and feedback of those who actually purchase and wear the products.

I'm very worried.

I'm going to digress a little, but as I reported in episode 9, "An Exciting Advance Reservation Event," I recently attended a reservation event for the 24SS collection at a certain retailer and spoke directly with a number of customers. It was a very enjoyable, valuable, and meaningful experience to hear various opinions and feedback directly from the customers.

From that experience, the faces of the people on the other side of our stores always come naturally to mind.

As a brand, DOMELLE places great importance on its own worldview and clothing policy, but at the same time, we need to ensure that everyone who wears DOMELLE is happy.

In order to avoid becoming a self-centered brand, I always feel that it is very important for us to hear directly from you all about your various opinions and feedback.

So I have a request for you all!

Do you use Instagram regularly?

DOMELLE also operates two accounts.

You can leave feedback in the comments section of our posts or via DM, about products that interest you, products that make your heart flutter, or anything you noticed after trying them on!

Of course, you can also send us your requests or questions. If you have any questions, we may be able to get your attention more easily via DM.

The 24SS collection is currently available on our Instagram account [@domelle_lookbook], so we hope you will take a look.

I would be happy to continue creating DOMELLE together with you all in the future.
